Clinical Medicine and Surgery

Clinical Officers form the core group of critical health care providers especially in the African continent where doctor population ratio is very low.

Clinical Officers are involved in proactively managing preventative care, reaching out to patients to ensure they get recommended tests and follow up interventions. Their major functions include; provision of curative, promotive and rehabilitative services, management of health services, and participation in health education to the public, act as catalysts of change in ensuring community is healthy for national growth, liaising with community leaders in increasing community participation in preventive health care.

The Outspan Medical College offers a diploma course in Clinical Medicine and Surgery. The college has been inspected and approved by the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya, to train clinical medicine and surgery at diploma level. Future prospects of Bachelor of Science in clinical medicine and surgery are available.
